We went to Antigua yesterday. It was super cool. I got a bunch of stuff from there. I got two paintings, a corte bag (a certain material that people where. It's super pretty and sometimes people give gifts of corte. In Gomera a member made me a beautiful corte tie) and something else, I cant remember.
The education down here is kind of terrible, most of the people cannot read or write. A lot of kids can though. And school for them sometimes starts at 5in the afternoon or 5 in the morning, depending on what grade level you are.
As missionaries we don't really get into politics here because it distracts from our purpose and message, and I don't really know enough to sound political enough but people here have very strong opinions about Trump! they try to bring him up all the time and I just say that I don't know anything about what's happening in the states right now. :)
The people here get up super early to go to work. A lot of them have a very hard time finding work because all of the work can be found in the capital of Guatemala. The appointments that we set up here are funny, there's a thing called "Mormon Standard Time", right? Well, the Chapins take it to a whole new level. they are late all the time and usually it's 30 minutes to an hour that they're late. It really sucks, ha ha.
I finally got your package! Thanks! But we can't play Uno so I'm bummed. (We can't play card games, rules of our pres.) We can still play basketball but I'd rather play soccer becuase it's more of a challenge. :)
