So yesterday for the first time in 20 months I finally climbed EL VOLCAN DE PACAYA HAHAHAHAHA (evil laugh, jkjk). Haha it was a ton of fun to be honest but I was kind of sad because my camera broke and I couldn't take any pictures.. Other than that it was a blast! We got to one point when we were coming down the volcano and there was a lot of loose rock and sand, can you guess what we did? Yep we ran/slid all the way down the face of the volcano hahaha. It was so much fun! But enough of that, we had two baptisms on Sunday!! Their names are Erick Sabala and Paola Cruz.
So we found this family through looking for inactive members of the church. We were visiting this family and they came to visit that family too. We invited them to church not really expecting them to go and left the house. Sunday came and they showed up!!! Three weeks after that and a lot of lessons they got married and baptized! I love this family so much haha. I've always loved seeing families make the decision together to follow Christ and enter the waters of baptism. Its one more step to being an eternal family. I LOVE TO BAPTIZE haha.
Were going to baptize 2 more this week im hoping, there names are Sarah Hernandez and Marily Sagastume. Please keep them in your prayers!!! They're both really great and have so much desire to be baptized!
Finally, I'm coming home in 4 months but that has not changed how I see things in the mission. I';m still working hard and seeing the fruits of what I'm doing. Were reactivating a family right now and we had a lesson with them on Sunday. At the end I shared my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and the church and hows its brought me out of the deepest depths that I've ever been in. By the end, everyone was crying. It was one of the most powerful testimonies I have ever giving and the spirit was soooo strong. They are going to come to church and to be honest, I couldn't be happier than I am right now. I love finding the lost sheep and helping them back onto the straight and narrow. I love my savior and cannot wait to meet him in the not too far off future.
Last but not least, OPEN YOUR MOUTHS AND SHARE THIS GOSPEL!! DONT BE SELFISH BY KEEPING IT IN!!!
I love you guys!!!
Elder Whelan
